"Children are the world's most valuable resource and its best hope for the future." John F. Kennedy

Welcome to Grassroots Initiatives for the Future Family Tree (GIFFT).
We are a Non-profit group organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code.  All donations made to this charity are fully tax deductible as allowable under the IRS Code.

Our future is in the hands of our children.  Therefore, our future is in the hands of the parents of today and the parents of tomorrow.  Most successful people first credit their parents with their success.  A good upbringing can be the impetus for all the good things that a person will do with his or her life and for this society.

These accomplishments become the sturdy branches on the world's family tree.  They grow from the solid trunk of good parenting; education of our children, care of earth's inhabitants, stewardship of the environment, scientific innovation and advancement in all aspects of humanity.

Parenting is rarely taught in our society, except by parents themselves.  When a person is unable to parent effectively, his or her offspring will likely have the same difficulty.  This weak branch grows larger with each generation and eventually the entire tree is weakened and may fall apart completely.  By strengthening and educating the parents and children of today, we create stronger families and a stronger and better future.

At GIFFT, we believe the private sector can do much toward curing societal ills.  Through your generous donations, GIFFT is able to carry out these initiatives in your local community:

    • Provide supplemental services and materials to local children removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect
    • Provide mentoring and educational services and materials to youth housed in group homes to include goal-setting, financial education and planning for their futures
    • Follow individuals through adulthood to increase their potential for success
    • Collect and distribute donated clothing and supplies to foster parents
    • Advocate for parenting classes in high school curriculum
    • Conduct free parenting classes for local residents
    • Assist county social services agencies in recruiting resource families
    • Hold annual camps pairing abused and neglected adolescents with adoptable shelter animals to foster emotional healing, development of empathy and positive changes in the way they view themselves and others.   Homeless animals receive the human contact and training needed in order to increase their chances of adoption.
    • Conduct free humane education classes for local youth.
    • Incorporate green living skills in curriculum of all GIFFT programs
    • Promote planting of trees and other environmentally sound practices for the natural world
    • Incorporate environmentally sound horticultural practices in a camp environment that also promote nurturing and a sense of accomplishment and self-worth in abused and neglected children
    • Conduct free responsible environmental stewardship classes for local youth
