Parenting is the foundation, or trunk, of our society's family tree and branching out from that foundation are a diverse series of interconnected offspring wholly dependent upon the quality of the parenting. Over time, generations of children raised by ineffective and untrained parents are reaching adulthood and in turn raising new generations of dysfunctional individuals. This cycle feeds on itself and grows exponentially.
Therefore, the first goal of GIFFT is to break that cycle by developing strategies to educate the parents of today and tomorrow in the skills that will enable them to raise a new generation of beneficial members of our society in spite of an inadequate family environment. This in turn will create a society wherein the number of functional adults will increase and the number of dysfunctional adults will decrease. The benefits of such a change will lead to improvement in every aspect of our society, without exception.
In conjunction with this needed improvement in our society as a whole, GIFFT recognizes our obligation to preserve the world in and on which we exist. Accordingly, the second goal of GIFFT is twofold; to teach appropriate management of the natural resources of this planet, and to promote ideas that will enable all humankind to embrace a world view of cooperation and dedication to peaceful resolution of world environmental issues.
Lastly, GIFFT recognizes the need for more involvement by individuals in the business of promoting these goals. Therefore, the final mission of GIFFT is to continually seek to improve methods and increase knowledge in this field, adding programs and taking action appropriate to advance the cause including mentoring participants in establishing similar groups and spreading the movement worldwide.
This is GIFFT's mission, briefly, but imagine how each facet of a human life stems from that parental influence and how each life has either a positive, a negative or no effect on our society. Consider how your own life has been steered by your parents and imagine how different it may have been without that influence, whether for better or for worse. Now consider each person who is in the daily news and imagine how their parental influence led them to be locally or nationally famous or notorious.
Your tax-deductible donation to GIFFT supports efforts toward reversing the negative parental influences on society by creating a venue for change and by closing the gap in current governmental support and education to those at risk.
The net result is improvement across all world interests.
We do not require participants in GIFFT programs to belong to any particular religious affiliation or to financially support the organization in any way. We do encourage participants to learn and pass on to another the lessons taught by GIFFT. This way, the benefits and the progress will grow exponentially and will continue indefinitely to guarantee a brighter future for all.
